设计策展计划评审委员会将从投稿中评选出策展人奖一名，设计互联研究伙伴三名，在海上世界文化艺术中心一楼园景展馆实现大奖方案，展出三个月；并向三名研究伙伴提供专项研究资助金。

Its Jury will select one Design Society Curator Award and three Design Society Research Fellow from the submission. The awarded proposal will be developed into an exhibition and presented in the Park View Gallery of the Sea World Culture and Arts Center for three months. The three Design Society Research Fellow will be awarded research grants.

设计互联作为中国首个以设计为主题的综合文化平台，自2017年开馆至今，不断试图打破设计行业原有的壁垒，拓展设计内涵，探寻设计与社会和文化的关联性，与公众分享设计思维和设计领导力。 

Since its opening in 2017, as China’s first comprehensive cultural platform with design as its theme, Design Society has continuously broken the barriers of the design industry. In doing so, we have been trying to expand the definition of design, to build the relevance of design development for society and culture, and to popularize design thinking and leadership. 

设计作为一个不断演变的学科，早已超越了物品的美学与功能，而成为我们发现问题、解决问题的思维方式和工具。它既与现实紧密连接，又在解决问题的过程中不断发现问题，形成了批判性。三年来，设计互联通过展览和活动探讨并推广设计的价值，并提出如下三个关键的价值主张：

As an ever evolving discipline, the definition of design is in a constant flux. It has long since expanded from the creation of objects with aesthetic and functional value, to a tool and a way of thinking used to identify and to solve problems. Its nature is closely connected to reality, and it is gradually manifesting itself as an aspect of critical thinking in the process of solving and analyzing problems. Over the past three years, Design Society has actively investigated and contested the values of design through exhibitions and public programs, identifying three key aspects of value proposition today:

回应时代紧迫议题。设计承载着广阔的使命，应对与解决⽂化发展、技术发展⽅向、城乡建设、传统存续、可持续发展等社会问题。设计的研究应该能够帮助大家更好地理解这个复杂的时代，并通过展览呈现思考、打开对话； 

Responding to the urgencies of our time. Design carries a wider mission in society, responding to ever-expanding social issues and needs such as cultural and technological development, rural and urban diversification, and cultural and environmental sustainability. Design also has the potential to unfold the complexity of above social issues and help us understand the increasingly intricate times we live in. It is able to further expand this dialogue among the public through the medium of exhibition. 

生产和激发新知识、新理念。一个设计的诞生过程涉及到背后一整套复杂的雇佣、生产和流通系统，构成了我们对产品和设计的固有认知。通过对系统的调查与反思，质询已有的设计系统和概念、及其与物、人之间的关系，找到新的观看方式、创造新知识和理念； 

Generating new curatorial knowledge. In order to create a design, one must reference complex systems such as the labor, production and circulation that constitute our understanding of a design, both as concept and as product. Through interrogating and researching these stereotypical systems, design can help us reflect critically on our relationship with objects, presenting a new perspective and generating new knowledge and ideas. 

把设计放入整体文化中思考。把设计实践与更广泛的文化、历史、艺术的重要发展脉络、趋势、语境联系起来思考。作为人类创造力的体现，我们对设计的理解不能只停留在商品层面，而是要把设计与整体的文化语境相互参照。

Positioning design in cultural, historical, and artistic momentum, while contextualizing it in a broader discussion. As a form of creative practice, our understanding towards design should go beyond commodity. Instead, we should experience it as an integrated part of our interconnected web of culture.

2020 Curating Design Plan

此次征集以“设计重聚”为题，招募策展人才，寻找那些通过创造性地运⽤展览这种媒介，发挥洞察⼒、想象⼒与批判精神，在跨越时空的庞杂信息、物质与⽣命之间构筑联结，将公众领⼊那望⽽却步的问题之中，启发思考，巩固信⼼，打开关键性的新对话。

With the theme of Design  (Re-)union, The Curating Design Plan aims to support designers and curators in seeing the values of design beyond the surface; to speak through the medium of exhibition to share their keen insight, imagination, methods and actions; to rebuild connections and lead the public to grasp new solutions; and to open new critical dialogues.  

此次征集号召关注以下内容的方案：

1. 在疫情之后新的社会状态下人与物的关系； 

2. 对深圳及大湾区特殊的设计及文化语境提出独到的观察与理解； 

3. 打破已有的、权威的对于文化及设计的解读； 

4. 对于城乡发展具有洞见的； 

5. 对于展览这种文化表达的形式本身进行思辨及提出新观点的； 

6. 对于全球物质、能量和资源流动模式的反思，提出新设想的。 

The submission needs to reflect at least one of following qualities: 

1)The relationship between humans and materials in a new post-pandemic social condition;

2)An understanding of the cultural context and design development of Shenzhen and the Grater Bay;

3)Challenge the existing authoritative interpretation of culture and design;

4)Have keen insight into the development of urban and rural areas;

5)Critical reflection on exhibitions as a form of cultural expression and putting forward new ideas;

6)Rethinking the global mode of material, energy and resource circulation. 

设计互联研究伙伴

  • 三名，奖励3万元人民币（含税）研究资金，支持策展人/团队的策展研究；

设计互联策展人奖

  • 一名，奖励30万元人民币（含税）展览专项资金，在设计互联专业团队的协助下，于深圳市海上世界文化艺术中心一楼园景展馆实现展览，拟展期为2021年4月-6月（含布撤展时间）。

Design Society Research Fellow

  • Design Society will select three Design Society Research Fellows, and will support each selected curator or curatorial team with 30,000 RMB (tax included) for their further research.

Design Society Curator Award

  • One winning proposal will be selected by the jury and be awarded with 300,000 RMB (tax included), which will be used to develop the curatorial proposal into an exhibition with assistance from Design Society. The outcome will be presented in the Park View Gallery, on the first floor of the Sea World Culture and Arts Center. The exhibition period will be from April to June 2021 (including the installation and dismantling process).

  • 个人、团体或公司均可投稿；
  • 投稿人年龄、国籍、性别、种族、教育背景不限；
  • 提交计划必须切实可行，并且要有合理的预算控制；
  • 展览和展品应能够在三个月的展览期间内保持良好状态。

  • Any individual, curatorial team, or company can submit a proposal.
  • There are no limitations to candidates’ age, nationality, gender or ethnic group, and no restrictions on job occupation and educational background.
  • The proposal needs to be practical and feasible within a reasonable budget.
  • The exhibition and exhibits need to be able to be displayed in good condition for the full duration of the three-month exhibition period.

策展人/团队联系方式、常居地、自我介绍、过往策展项目介绍

  • 策展方案，需包含：

1）策展理念（1000字内）

2）作品文字简介及视觉资料（每件作品100字以内） 

3）展陈设计图纸

4）参展艺术家名单、简介（每位艺术家200字以内）

5）公共教育活动方案，如讲座、工作坊等活动

6）展览预算（请使用展览预算模版）

基于投稿人/团体的提交材料，分三轮评选：

  • 初评：设计互联根据招募要求筛选出有效方案，由评审委员会选出入围方案；
  • 复评：入围者将参与评审委员组织的专题工作坊，进一步完善方案。由评审委员会选出三位/组设计互联研究伙伴
  • 终评：三位/组设计互联研究伙伴根据评委意见，在十个工作日内优化方案，并提交最终版策展方案与展览维护手册，由评审委员会评选出设计互联策展人奖得主

The review is mainly based on the materials submitted by the applicants, and is divided into three rounds: shortlist, semi-final evaluation and final evaluation.

  • Shortlist: Design Society will select a shortlist of effective proposals according to the Submission Requirements.
  • Semi-final Evaluation: The shortlisted applicants will present their proposals to the Jury, who will host a series of curatorial workshops to give candidates feedback and support in finalizing their proposals. The Jury will then select the three most promising persons/teams and grant them a Design Society Fellow award. 
  • Final Evaluation: The three selected curators or curatorial teams will continue to deepen their proposals according to feedback from the judges and submit their final curatorial proposals including exhibition maintenance instructions within 10 working days. Finally, The Jury will select one proposal which will be executed and developed into an exhibition.

任何个人/团队/公司（以下简称“投稿人”）一旦投稿，视为其对所提交的方案作下述不可撤销声明：

一、原创声明

投稿方案为投稿人原创，且未以任何形式公开展示或进入公开渠道。投稿人保证投稿方案及其所涉文字、作品、图片、信息等全部内容，不存在侵犯其他第三方著作权、专利权、商标权等知识产权或其他合法权益的情形，不涉及抄袭、借用等侵权行为。

二、合法声明

投稿人保证其提供的方案所涉全部内容符合相关法律法规的规定，不得危害国家主权及安全、损害国家利益，不得含有任何违背民族宗教政策、社会主义核心价值观的内容，不得有悖于各民族传统文化和风俗习惯，不得宣扬宗教和封建迷信思想，不得危害社会公共利益、违反公序良俗及社会道德等。

三、知识产权声明

投稿方案版权归属于投稿人。投稿人须授权征集人将投稿方案全部或部分内容无偿用于项目宣传、推广事项，并出具授权文件。获奖投稿方案经评选并正式确认用于举办展览后，主办方与投稿人另行协商投稿方案细化、实施落地、版权转让或使用等相关事宜，并签订书面协议。投稿人保证征集人在前述范围内使用投稿方案及其所涉全部内容不会侵犯其他第三方知识产权或其他合法权益。

四、责任承担

投稿人违反前述声明的，投稿人负责承担相关侵权纠纷产生的相关法律责任、退还已收到的全部奖金，征集人将取消其参选/入围/获奖资格，并保留向其追究法律责任、要求其赔偿损失的权利。

Statement of OriginalityThe submitted proposal is original and has not been publicly displayed or entered into a public platform in any form. Contributors guarantee that the submitted proposal and all contents, texts, works, pictures and other information involved does not infringe the rights and interests of any other person or legitimate, including but not limited to the copyright, patent right and trademark right, and does not involve plagiarism, copying and other infringements.

2. 3. Attribution of Participating Projects’ Intellectual Property RightsThe copyright of the submitted proposal belongs to the contributor. The contributor shall authorize Design Society to use all or part of the contributor’s proposal without cost, for project publicity and promotion, and issue a document of authorization. After the winning submission has been selected and officially confirmed, Design Society and the contributor of the winning submission shall negotiate the refinement, implementation, copyright transfer or use of the submitted proposal, and sign a written agreement. The contributor guarantees that Design Society’s use of the proposal and all its contents within the scope mentioned above, will not infringe the intellectual property rights or other legitimate rights and interests of third parties.

4. ResponsibilityIf any contributor violates the above statement, they shall bear the relevant legal liability arising from the infringement dispute, return all the bonus received, and the solicitors shall cancel their candidacy/finalist/award qualification, and reserve the right to pursue legal action against them and ask compensation for any losses incurred.
