FLOWING CURRENT & WASTE LAND

展览前言

在数字技术快速发展的背景下，区块链、元宇宙、AIGC等热点更新选代，崭新的技术事实不断冲击着我们的现实生活，现象的矛盾话语阻碍着我们与新异世界的相遇。社会与自然、现实与想象、人工智能与人类智性的边界在反复冲刷中日益模糊，创造力被逐至数字盛墟的边境，淹没于喧嚣激荡之海。

With the rapid development of digital technology, new hotspots such as blockchain, metaverse and AIGC are constantly upgrading and replaced. These brand-new technical facts are continually impacting on our real life. However, the contradictory discourse of these phenomena impedes us from embracing the changing world. The boundaries delimiting society from nature, reality from fiction, and artificial intelligence from human intelligence are becoming increasingly blurred. Such has happened over and over again that creativity has been evicted to the border of the digital blooming market and inundated in a roaring and surging sea.

本次展览以“涌流之寂”为题，展区由四座既是浮岛亦是浪潮的团块构成，对应展览架构中的“殊域”“盛墟”“折射”“寓言”四个章节。新兴的涌流在只增不减的枯燥冗长中使得认知变成屈从于内心的思考机器，机器的声音传至地心，从此成为一个古老的概念，否弃浮夸与矫饰，不假的简洁与诚实，等待欢呼着与新世纪的相遇，如同它会为回到纯粹而高歌一般。

With “Flowing Current & Waste Land” as the title of this exhibition, the exhibition area is comprised of four blocks that are both floating islands and waves, corresponding to the four chapters of the exhibition architecture – “Special Land”, “Blooming Market”, “Refraction”, and “Fable”. The rising flow of new information, boringly and verbosely increasing without decreasing, turns one’s cognition into a thinking machine yielding to the inner heart, from which the sound is transmitted to the earth’s core, thence becoming an ancient concept that rejects boastfulness and pretentiousness and values unaffected pithiness and sincerity. Everyone waits and cheers for encountering the new century, as if it would sing loudly for a return to purity.

跨媒体艺术学院实验艺术系的23位创作者将以影像、装置、行为、动画等多种媒介，相互交织映照，试图在模拟景致中建构一个有机复杂的系统，在流动中达成生命之关联，使寂然的真识涌现。

The 23 artists from the Department of Experimental Art, School of Transmedia Art will utilize a variety of mediums, including images, devices, behaviors, and animation, to intertwine and reflect upon one another. They will attempt to construct an organic and intricate system within a simulated scene, ultimately achieving a connection to the flow of life and bringing forth silent, genuine knowledge.
